Pre-T-Birds (one-hour classes) 8-14 Years
This program is geared towards young athletes that want to work on their endurance, learn proper competitive starts and turns and other racing skills to potentially try-out for the JCC Thunderbirds Swim Team. Tryouts required. Your swimmer must complete 25 meters of all four competitive strokes. By appt only. Contact Kathy Morgenstern at kmorgenstern@jccmanhattan.org (646.505.4456) or Alex Ursino at aursino@jccmanhattan.org (646.505.4484) to schedule an appointment. All Pre-T-Birds participate in a Sunday class from 12:30-1:30 pm. Our Tuesday section is geared towards Endurance Training and our Wednesday section is geared towards Competitive Training. Intermediate Digital Photography Academy 11-14 Years
Learn to use your 35mm digital SLR camera to cultivate a critical eye and capture the images you want. Use the JCC digital lab to download, retouch, and print your photos. View the work of well-known photographers during slideshow lectures and trips to museums and galleries. Use studio lights to create a staged picture with your classmates.
